If there has been recent news or rumors about a sequel, it’s worth noting that any such project would likely continue the adventures of Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and other beloved characters from the Mushroom Kingdom. Fans would probably expect more thrilling adventures, new villains, and perhaps some exploration of other worlds from the vast Mario universe.

We’re the Millers is a 2013 American comedy film directed by Rawson M. The film was released on August 7, 2013, by New Line Cinema through Warner Bros. Pictures. Despite mixed reviews, it was a box office success, grossing $270 million worldwide against a $37 million budget during its theatrical run. It was nominated for four People’s Choice Awards, and six MTV Movie Awards, winning two. In Denver, low-level marijuana dealer David Clark is robbed of his money and stash, some of which he owes to his drug supplier and college acquaintance Brad Gurdlinger. Gurdlinger forces him to smuggle marijuana from Mexico to clear his debt. Realizing that one man attempting to get through customs would be suspicious, David hires his neighbors—a stripper stage-named Rose; local runaway Casey; and naïve, recently abandoned teenager Kenny—to pose as his wife, daughter, and son respectively, dubbing themselves the “Millers”.
When the Millers reach the compound, they learn that the amount of marijuana they are picking up is not “a smidge” as Gurdlinger described it, but actually two tons. The new F1 film, which was directed by none other than Top Gun: Maverick, will undoubtedly be compared to Tom Cruise’s next legacy sequel as soon as it is announced. For many years, Cruise has been one of the most well-known movie actors worldwide. More than anything else, his career has been shaped in recent years by the follow-ups to some of his most famous films. Mission: Impossible 8 is scheduled to be released in theaters in 2025, a third Top Gun film is in development, and there are rumors that a sequel to Edge of Tomorrow may be approved.

In addition to the aforementioned movies, a sequel to Cruise’s 1990 movie Days of Thunder is being made. Days of Thunder follows the rivalry-turned-friendship between NASCAR drivers Cole Trickle and Rowdy Burns. While the original movie only has a score of 38% on Rotten Tomatoes, Cruise has a desire to make a sequel to Days of Thunder. However, assuming the Days of Thunder sequel is released in the next few years, this means that it will immediately be compared to F1, the 2025 racing movie from Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski.
